Catia Isabel

Catia Isabel is a WBFF Pro Fitness Diva and veterinary surgeon. She was born and raised in Braga, a Portugal town known for its rich architecture and history. It was in this city that Catia took her first steps towards success in fitness by entering the gym.

In 2011, after years of working on her physique, Catia took a huge decision – she moved to Brazil, a country where the fitness industry was booming. Hoping to build a name for herself there, Catia worked hard in the gym day in and day out. On top of this, she studied during the night to earn her veterinary surgeon degree.

Eventually, Catia graduated from the Veterinary college. With more free time to dedicate to fitness, she began posting pictures of her sculpted body online; hoping to build a social media audience. And this is exactly what happened.

More and more people started visiting Catia’s profiles, admiring her curvy legs and bulging abs. This, coupled with her success on the fitness stages such as WBFF Fitness Diva Pro in Brazil, has seen Catia become an idol for fitness enthusiasts across South America.

Training

More Weight, Fewer Reps

Catia Isabel bases her workouts on “controlled moves, more weight and less reps.” This approach has allowed her to build quality muscle while keeping her body fat low.

Catia trains in the gym 4 days per week, reserving 2 days for cardio and 1 for total rest.

Abdominal Definition

In order to sculpt her awesome abs, Catia likes to combine a variety of exercises that hit all parts of her midsection. Such movements include;

She likes to finish her ab workouts with planks, doing 3 sets of 30 seconds while keeping her midsection tight and squeezed. This has her feeling completely exhausted and “burnt out” by the end of the workout.

To avoid ‘over-training’ from such intense workouts, she ensures at least 8 hours of sleep each night to allow her muscles to heal.

Nutrition

Keeping the meals ‘tight’ in terms of calories, as well as drinking 2-3 liters of water every day is the basis of Catia’s diet.

She likes to reduce her caloric intake before a contest, eating 200-500 calories below her maintenance. This gives her the chiseled look that she’s known for.

Even when she doesn’t compete, Catia likes to reduce her carbs while keeping the proteins and fats high. Since fats and proteins are released slowly in the body, Catia stays full long after her meal. As a result, she rarely feels any cravings for unhealthy foods.

What we can learn from Catia Isabel

While keeping a strict diet such as Catia’s isn’t an easy thing to do. It’s the price she’s willing to pay in order to have an awesome figure all year-round.

What we can learn from her, is that success comes with its price. In regards to fitness, this means saying no to things that are detrimental to your progress; such as too much alcohol, junk food, etc.

Keeping your diet clean with plenty of vegetables and lean proteins might not sound as exciting as eating a piece of chocolate cake, but it leads towards greater success later down the road – as Catia Isabel has shown us.
